    Wet Pad Cooling System is the most economical and efficient cooling solution for modern greenhouses.

    Wet pad cooling systems, also known as evaporative cooling systems or fan-and-pad cooling systems, are the most widely adopted cooling technology for commercial greenhouses in hot and dry climates.

    By combining exhaust fans and evaporative cooling pads, this system can reduce incoming air temperatures by 10–15°C (18–27°F), creating an optimal growing environment even during peak summer conditions.

The system consists of three core components: exhaust fans, inlet shutters, and evaporative cooling pads, all working together to provide consistent, cost-effective cooling.

    Exhaust Fans – Powerful and Energy-Efficient Ventilation

    Whether used in combination with inlet shutters or ventilation openings, our propeller blade exhaust fans provide low-pressure, medium-to-high volume ventilation. Fans are available in single-speed or two-speed configurations, sized specifically for each project based on greenhouse volume and desired air exchange rate.

    Inlet Shutters – Balanced Air Intake

    Placed on the opposing side or gable wall from the exhaust fans, inlet shutters provide the proper opening for complete and uniform air distribution across the entire greenhouse. Without properly sized and positioned shutters, cooling efficiency is significantly reduced.

    Evaporative Cooling Pads – The Heart of the System

    Evaporative cooling pads are constructed of cellulose paper with a cross-fluted design. Water flows through the pads, saturating the cellulose material. As hot outside air is drawn through the moist pads by the exhaust fans, the water evaporates, absorbing heat from the air and cooling it before it enters the greenhouse.

    Pad Specifications:

    1.Material: Specially formulated cellulose paper

    2.Thickness: 100mm, 150mm, or 200mm options available

    3.Treatment: Impregnated with insoluble anti-rot salts for long service life

    4.Design: Cross-fluted for maximum surface area and evaporation efficiency

    5.Location: Typically installed on the north gable wall (in Northern Hemisphere)

    6.Support structure: Aluminum frame with PVC water distribution pipe and return gutter

    How the Complete System Works

    1.Exhaust fans at one end of the greenhouse pull hot air out of the structure

    2.This creates negative pressure, drawing fresh outside air through the cooling pads

    3.Water flowing through the pads evaporates, cooling the incoming air

    4.Cool, moist air travels through the greenhouse, absorbing heat from plants and structure

    5.Warm air is exhausted to the outside, completing the cycle
